5 Brands that are Helping the World!
Today, it isn’t enough to just be a brand. Customers are now much more savvy, looking for genuine experiences, authenticity and positivity.
According to a recent report by Shelton Group, 90% of millennials choose to support purposeful brands. Millennials also spend $600 billion a year in the US alone. So they’re an audience brands can’t afford to overlook.
In light of this tidbit of information, here are 5 of my absolute favorite brands that are killing it as purposeful brands!
LUSH
LUSH has been one of my favorites for a long time! They’re one of the most eco-friendly cosmetic and bath brands out there!
They’re 100% vegetarian, everything is handmade with minimal packaging to reduce waste and they work hard to fight animal testing!
They also source their ingredients ethically, buying from small communities in places such as Ghana.
AND if that wasn’t enough they have the have the SLush fund which stands for Sustainable Lush Fund.
This fund is dedicated to sponsoring farmers in less economically developed countries so that they can support their individual communities.
While they are more mainstream, I love LUSH because they use their presence to set a positive example to other cosmetic and bath brands out there!
If you haven’t tried LUSH yet, I recommend waiting till Christmas to get your hands on a limited edition glitter bath bomb!
Loving Earth
Who doesn’t love chocolate? Unfortunately a lot of mainstream chocolate utilises unhealthy additives and sugar!
And being pretty health conscious and strict… it was really hard for me to give up chocolate.
Luckily for me, Loving Earth is a brand that popped up a few years ago with the belief that the earth is living, just like us!
Because of this, their chocolate is organic, vegan and plane based with NO cane sugar or palm oil! Their wrapper is also 100% home compostable.
And if that’s not enough, their cacao is sourced sustainably from the remote Ashaninka community in Peru!
And you bet their chocolate is delicious (I might be addicted myself!)
Check out Loving Earth here! (Psst, I recommend the Lemon Cheesecake flavor.)
The Smoothie Bombs
Another personal favourite of mine! (Wow, I sure love food, who would have guessed?)
According to statistics, a third of Aussies skip breakfast three times a week! Thus, The Smoothie Bombs’ founder Cinzia aims to provide quick and nutritious breakfast options for busy people!
Bombs are small, round balls of dehydrated fruit, veggies and seeds which can be blended into water, almond milk or yogurt! The options are endless!
This is perfect for me because I always have a busy morning. So throwing one of these into a blender with my smoothie helps me keep my nutrition in check!
As a bonus Smoothie Bombs also use ethically sourced, plant based ingredients to create their bombs.
Check them out here! (My favourite is the Super Greens pack!)
Who Gives a Crap
Now that is a brand name that ought to get your attention!
Who Gives a Crap is a company dedicated to making eco-friendly toilet paper to lessen environmental impact!
Their goal is also to transform the health and economic wellbeing of communities who don’t have working toilets.
Currently, 2.3 billion people over the world don’t have access to a toilet.
This includes 289,000 children who die every year from diseases caused by a lack of sanitation.
As such, 50% of Who Gives a Crap’s proceeds are donated to build toilets for disadvantaged countries.
And so far they have donated $1.8 million!
Check them out here! It’s an easy way for you to make a difference too!
Ivory Ella
And last but not least we have Ivory Ella!
I love wildlife and deeply believe that we need to share the Earth fairly with them.
Unfortunately, every year, poachers target elephants, taking their ivory tusks for black market trade.
Good news is; Ivory Ella dedicate their business to conserving these beautiful animals. They’re currently partnered with Save The Elephants, a prominent elephant protection organisation.
Having donated $1.6 million so far, their motto is “Good Clothes for a Good Cause.”
And it resonates a lot with me because I love animals. So this is why Ivory Ella is a good brand that I love.
Check out their products here! (I’m definitely getting that elephant plush soon!)
And there we have it! 5 purposeful brands who are shaping the world positively! Each of them has a purpose which resonates with me.
This is because I’ve always had a love for eco-friendly brands who are doing their part to make the world a better place!
What about you? Is there any brand that inspires your business?
